Agra

During the reign of Akbar the Great (1558-1606s), the Mughal Empire reached the height of its power. At the end of the 17th century the Mughal Empire controlled most of India (excluding the southern side) and part of current Afghanistan.

At that time a period of much cultural and artistic development had started. In Agra stands famous architectural monument of the Taj Mahal, the construction of which lasted from around 1631s to 1654s and was completed by approximately 2000 craftsmen under supervision of the Persian architects Abu Fazel and Ustad Ahmad Lahauri. The Taj Mahal is the embodiment of Persian and Indian architectural art.

Ancients carpets of Agra are of the rarest kind and therefore considered to be collectibles.
